The staff at the Varden were terrific. Service was, without exception, excellent in every way. Location of the hotel was perfect for the major attractions of coastal Long Beach and the hotel was interesting from a historical perspective. Definitely not just another giant chain hotel.

The free "continental breakfast" was a bit spartan for my taste, but this is not an important complaint, as there are a number of other choices for breakfast nearby.

The Varden is the hotel of choice in Long Beach. the hotel boasts the best staff. - the rooms are spotless and huge, with the most comfortable beds ever. - It has a central location, just a short distance from One World Trade Center. - the hotel is conveniently situated close to bars and restaurants.

Consistently courteous staff, easy location, everything was 10/10. New-fashioned and spotless room available with coffee makers, the most comfortable beds and the a/c unit. Great food, great service.

The staff at The Varden are awesome; very friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel is well located, and the rooms are clean, comfortable & well designed. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Parking is a little limited.

This small hotel is very clean and has incredibly kind staff, making it a fantastic choice for a business trip stay.

The best service ever from wonderful staff who really make me feel like a guest instead of a paying customer. That combined with a perfect location for Long Beach make the Varden a great choice.

I truly enjoyed choosing this stylish and wonderful hotel. the staff were consistently courteous. 3. the room was huge and reasonably spacious with perfect lighting. 4. the most comfortable beds plus coffee makers were a nice touch. 5. A ferry port was very close to the property.

Units with the most comfortable beds ever. All the staffs were excellent and best. The location was favourable and easy close to the beach and a 5-minute walk to the center.

Staff is really helpful and nice. Rooms are very cozy although the sink is a bit small. It is modernly decorated, with a very good taste. Staff takes care of all little details of the hotel with lots of care. My stay was great!!!

If I have to say something: the sink was very small. There is a shelf just slightly above it, so it is a bit difficult for instance to wahs your face without pouring water out. But this is just a very small unimportant detail from a very nice hotel.

I really enjoyed staying in this beautiful small and quirky hotel based in a historic building. the room had the most comfortable beds ever. - the property has a favorable location next to Long Beach for the weekend and many great local restaurants.

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They went out of their way to provide us with information, coupons, etc., knew us and the other guests by name, and clearly had a lot of repeat guests.

The location was great, within walking distance to many sights and restaurants.

The room was tiny, no room to move around. The bed was small and jammed into the corner of the room. Zero view!!
